How to Get Rid of Bad Breath

 

You wake in the morning, you have slept through your alarm and you’re running late.. Rush out the door  trying to get to work as fast as possible, you look in the mirror hair’s looking ok, smell the breath, oops, yuk bad breath and not a chewy insight, what can you do?

Halitosis, also known as Bad breath.  Starts in your gums, tongue and teeth, were bacteria and plaque begin. Almost 85-90% of bad breath begins in the mouth itself.

But How do You Get Rid of Bad Breath?

Having poor hygiene habits creates these odours which causes bad breath. Keeping up with hygiene routines, you can keep bad breath a thing of the past.

Rinses, toothpaste and flossing regularly will all help to eliminate bad breath. Use a tongue scraper or your toothbrush to clean your tongue.

Chewing fresh parsley, raw carrots or celery and chewing gum (sugar free) is good to get the salvia going in your mouth, keep fresh breath and stop plaque from forming.

Some big causes of bad breath are...

  1. Some medications can cause bad breath; consult with your doctor if there are any alternatives.
  2. Some foods known to create bad breath odours are garlic, onions, some fish and high sugar foods.
  3. Drinks, such as milk, fruit juices, liquor and coffee
  4. Body imbalances, like dehydration, stress and poor nutrition.
  5. Some diets will bring on the bad breath odours.
  6. Poor dental hygiene
  7. Infections in the mouth and gum disease
  8. Cigarette smoking

Sometimes your breath may not be as bad as you might think, ask a friend to give you an honest opinion. You may find your partner or girlfriend/boyfriend will let you if you have a bad breath problem.

If you feel you have a taste in your mouth (and not while eating something) there is a good chance you have some bad breath odours in your mouth. It may have been in the food you have eaten that day.

With so many choices in toothpaste and mouth rinses, try a flavour you enjoy so it’s a good taste for you while brushing, flossing and gargling.

Also getting regular check ups from your dentist is advised. Unhealthy teeth and gums can cause bad breath.
